User and Permissions - System Groups

Users with the “Manage Users & Permissions” permission can update system groups.

System groups are special types of groups and there are currently two groups defined by default for you: “Everyone”, and “Default View”.

Everyone Group

The “Everyone Group” contains all users in your organization. Applications in this group are seen by all users.

There are two typical use cases for this group:

  1. You have a common set of applications you want all users in your organization to interact with.

  2. You do not want to work with groups. In this case, you set the “Assign all apps to this group” flag, which results in all users seeing all applications. This flag is off by default.

Instructions to set the “Assign all apps to this group” flag

  1. From the Sealights dashboard, go to “Settings”

  2. On the left Navigation panel, Click the “Groups” section under “Users & Permissions”

  3. In the Groups list, locate the “Everyone Group”

  4. Click on “Everyone”

  5. Click on the “Assign all apps to this group” flag.

Default View Group

The “Default View Group” contains all users in your organization that were not assigned to any group.

In this group, the “Assign all apps to this group” flag is on by default: New users that are not assigned to any group will see all applications on their Dashboard on the first login. If you want new users to see a different set of applications, or no applications at all, toggle the “Assign all apps to this group” off or associate a restricted list of applications to this group.
